Starting today where I finished yesterday meant more hills to climb and traverse. Today I walked 13 streets.
49. Tower Avenue
50. Murano Street
51. Moodie Street
52. McKerrow Street
53. Rotary Park Close
54. Harbour Heights
55. Connell Street
56. Doon Street
57. Coolock Crescent
58. Scobie Street
59. Botting Place
60. Dinmont Street
Thinking I would get the hill climbing over while I was still feeling fresh, I headed down Dunrobin Street to Somerville Street and then turned around and walked back up the hill, turning onto Tower Avenue and Murano Street. I enjoyed the view from Dunrobin Street looking over Somerville Street and the houses on the hill opposite because these were the streets that I had walked yesterday and it was great to be able to see where I had been.
Once onto Moodie Street it leveled off and the walking became easier for a while. Then it was onto McKerrow Street and the views changed. Of special note, one of the streets on this side of the hill had breath taking views of the harbour. The residents of Connell Street are very lucky to live here and I can understand why most of the houses on this street have very large windows - to take in this spectacular view.
As I've mentioned previously, walking gives you time to notice things you'd otherwise miss and on today's walk I came across this awesome 'Metal Mickey' letterbox and if you've lost a hub cap lately, then you might want to check out this power pole.
Today I also came across these two telephone cabinets that have been cleverly painted with local scenes. I am looking forward to finding more during my journey around Dunedin's streets.
