1426. Oban Street
1427. Reid Avenue
1428. Murray Street

Back in Mosgiel today and I must admit, it is getting a little monotonous as the streets are all starting to look the same - long, flat and straight.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked down a side street and most of the streets were short cul-de-sacs.  This made walking much more interesting and I was able to walk a number of streets in a short amount of time compared to the long, straight streets that I have been walking up until now.
This part of Mosgiel is newer with underground power with nice lantern type street lights.  Some of the streets are brick lined and there are lots of trees making the area very pleasant to walk through.

Cherry Tree Drive was another lovely street to walk as the grass verge and most houses have beautiful cherry trees in blossom.  The trees were covered in beautiful pale pink fluffy blossom with blossom carpeting the ground.
And of course a walk in Mosgiel would not be complete without a view of Saddle Hill in the distance.

This has to be one of the more unusual things I have seen on my challenge to walk every street in Dunedin.  I saw what looks to be a tail of a plane that has done a nose dive into someone's garden.  I had to ask myself  'why?' and wondered about the story behind it.

Another unusual thing I walked past was this 'person' cleverly created from flower pots. This certainly bought a smile to my face.
There were two interesting letterboxes on my walk today.  One is built up with schist stones to look a bit like a mountain while the other is more of an old style letterbox.

And lastly, this is map shows the streets in red that I have been walking the last few days.  As you can see there are a couple of areas where I have missed walking which means that I need to go back and complete walking these areas.
Distance walked:  8 km         Walking time  1 hr 26 mins

Total distance: 877.3  km          Total walking  164 hr 03 mins

Otago Harbour Cycleway 30 October 2023

With my sister in town, it seemed a shame to waste a calm, sunny day so the two of us hopped on a bike each to enjoy the recently opened 32k...
