Day Eight Vauxhall

Today was a shorter day walking as I finished walking the streets on the harbour side of Larnach Road.  Today I walked 5 streets

76. Kenilworth Street
77. Challis Street
78. Braeburn Street
79. Larnarch Road
80. Shandon Road

I also completed Glengyle, Doon and Dunrobin Streets that I had walked most of on other days.  The bottom part of Doon Street is a decent climb from sea level with houses on both sides of the street having steep sections and driveways but they are rewarded with fantastic views of the harbour and city.

We are very lucky in Dunedin to have such a beautiful harbour and it is great to see people enjoying it on days like today.  While walking up Doon Street I saw paddle boarders, cyclists and walkers all out making the most of the lovely weather.

I have enjoyed walking the streets on this side of the harbour as the city views were stunning from many of the streets.  It was a great  to see over most of the city and contemplate the task I have set myself, to walk every street in Dunedin.  80 streets done, only another 1400+ to go.

On my walk today, there were a couple of interesting things that I noticed.  One is this clever penguin letterbox and the other is this hedge that santa (?) has got stuck in.

Distance walked: 5.6km     Walking time 1 hr  7 mins

Total distance: 57.5km       Total walking  11 hr 02 mins

Otago Harbour Cycleway 30 October 2023

With my sister in town, it seemed a shame to waste a calm, sunny day so the two of us hopped on a bike each to enjoy the recently opened 32k...
